Charleston Golden Eagles fall 9-8 to Seton Hill Griffins; Samuel Lemond posts perfect batting

The Charleston Golden Eagles, featuring former Waltrip High School star Samuel Lemond, fell to the Seton Hill Griffins 9-8 in an NCAA Division II baseball game held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22.

Welch Athletic Complex served as the venue for the contest. The teams faced each other for the third time this season. In their prior meeting Saturday, Feb. 21, the Griffins secured a 13-3 win over the Golden Eagles.

Lemond notched five hits from five at-bats, scored three runs, and tallied two runs batted in.

The Golden Eagles return to play at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7, when they host Shepherd Rams at Fairfax Field.
